Tucson, Arizona holds a very special place in my heart because I lived there for 4 years. Laura and Aaron also lived in Tucson for quite some time and then had to move for work. When Laura reached out to me about photographing them in Tucson, I was more than excited. I am a lover of all plants, and the Saguaro cactus is one of my favorites, the Tucson Desert was always a very important place to me when I lived there, I would drive out to the desert and just read a book or listen to some good music to watch the sunset when the weather was nice. Tucson has an endless amount of adorably quirky places and restaurants and Laura and I very quickly realized we had a love for them in common. I knew just from emailing them that I absolutely adored them and we would have such a fun day together exploring the food scene and the Tucson Desert for their engagement session.
Laura and Aaron are two very special people. They have such a deep connection for each other and they are always taking the time out of their day to make sure the other is happy. They always seem to be doing the little things to surprise each other and brighten each others day. Aaron would always run his fingers through Lauras hair and I thought it was just the sweetest thing.
When we all met back up in Tucson, all three of us took turns taking each other to our favorite places. We started at Welcome Diner, a diner that was built in the 80s and has since been renovated. When I lived in Tucson, I was working on an architecture project of Tucson and I was always obsessed with this building. I took so many photos of it so when I heard it had been renovated, I had to go. After welcome diner Aaron took us to Rincon Market to get some beers from his home town. Rincon Market is a small family owned curated market in Tucson, Arizona that is a local favorite for lunch and shopping. After that, Laura took us to the Barrio, a historic neighborhood in Tucson with colorful adobe houses and lots of character. Then we took a drive out to my favorite part of the Tucson Desert for the end of their engagement session, Saguaro National Park.
